KENNY ORCHISON

My Background

I started my hairdressing career at age 15. I left school in the middle of my grade 9 year, to start working full time in a salon called Headboys. Under the creative and nurturing care of my mentor, Patricia Welman, I learned quickly the intricacies of working with clients and the technicalities of hairdressing. I started studying just before my 16th birthday and grew in leaps and bounds from there. I immersed myself fully in the hairdressing industry and took advantage of every opportunity to participate in competitions, photoshoots, and hair shows. By the time I was 28 I was running my second hair salon and was vice president of the prestigious Intercoiffure South Africa. I have had the privilege of traveling abroad for various educational congresses and had much of my work published internationally. Throughout my career, I have been a finalist in the Paul Mitchell Hairstylist of the year awards 5 times, as well as the winner of the matrix 35 mm of fame competition in 2008. I have also completed my color master's with both Wella and Schwarzkopf, and have product knowledge certification with over 12 leading industry brands. My love for hairdressing and client service has only grown over the years. I look forward to sharing my love for hairdressing with you.
