OUR STORY

As most of us go through defining moments throughout our lives and careers, the Hair Refinery was birthed out of a season of realizing that 20 years of experience as a hairstylist has ultimately been a training ground for serving people well. As a young stylist, I aimed only for great heights in the practicalities of being a hairstylist. I trained, learned, and competed in all avenues I possibly could in order to elevate my skill set and be the best I possibly could be. I have been privileged to rub shoulders with the best in my industry and learned all I could from them. However, in recent years, it is my love for the people underneath the hair that has stolen my heart. More than just daily opportunities to have fun creating living works of art on their heads, it is the moments that are shared with individuals that are what drives my passion. All of us at some point have to realize that our identity lies not in our abilities and what we do, but in whom God created us to be. As I have come to this realization, I've started viewing my work as a stylist not just as a practical skill, but as a vehicle by which I get to serve and love people. The heart behind the hair refinery is to create a beautiful and caring space, where people are served well while having their hair needs met with excellence.
